A Week of Creative Flow
A Week of Creative Flow
This week has been all about diving into artwork, particularly a large painting inspired by seafood. At first, I felt a bit stuck, unsure of what to create. So, I revisited a concept I’ve explored before—combining different elements I’ve previously worked on. I decided to collage together birds, a seascape with figures, and a vibrant still life, bringing an eclectic mix of themes, textures, and colors onto the canvas. It’s a beautiful, chaotic fusion that I hope will come together in that perfectly imperfect way.
A Day in My Studio
My typical day starts with getting my boys off to school, followed by a walk with my dog—my time to reset, often accompanied by a motivational podcast. Then, it’s a large pot of coffee, music on, and straight to the easel! Lately, I’ve been listening to the new Snow Patrol album, "The Forest Is the Path " which is absolutely amazing—a must-hear for anyone needing a creative boost.
Children's Day Art Workshop
On Saturday, I hosted a children’s day at Snail Studios, and it was such a lovely, relaxed time. We spent the day doing clay modeling, focusing on pumpkins for the Halloween season. The kids were thrilled when I sprayed their creations with gold paint at the end, giving them that magical touch. I’ve got plenty of Halloween events and workshops lined up for both kids and adults in the coming weeks!

Dog Portrait Commission
I’ve also just finished a dog portrait for a client. This one was special because it’s the third dog in their family that I’ve painted. It was a pleasure to capture the personality of their furry companion, and I’m happy to say the painting is now in its new home. I will keep you all updated on my seafood painting next week.
