Carving Out Memories
This week, I took a little break from blogging while my kids were off school, and I held a three-day art camp at the studio. Though it's hard work, it brings me a great sense of satisfaction seeing students’ confidence in their abilities grow so much over just a few days. I also hosted a Van Gogh spooky family workshop at the studio, it was my first time painting this new image, but it turned out so well and we all had a blast, which was the main thing.
Before my boys finished school, we all went to our first Pumpkin Party, at Campbell Junior school. The display of carved pumpkins created were fantastic. Especially this one! I don’t know who made it, but it was very impressive. We had pumpkin soup and the night ended with fireworks, a real memorable evening!
Over the half-term break, we visited the National Trusts Mount Stewart, a Neo- Classical house, celebrated gardens and demesne on the ards peninsula. We tried the spooky trail, which my kids absolutely loved. It’s such a beautiful place and a favourite of ours, especially since it's close to the Snail House. We spent a few days at the Snail House in Donaghadee as well, the weather wasn't too bad, so we got in plenty of walks with Bodie (our dog). We enjoyed meals at the Bull & Claw, Grace Neill's, Pier 36, and The Captain’s Table a chippy by the seafront. Donaghadee is full of great restaurants and has such a lovely seaside charm—I always wish I didn’t have to leave. Here is a limited edition print of a painting I produced called "Donaghadee by The Sea", which shows you exactly how I feel about this place!
This print is available as a Ltd Edition Print and also a beautiful Silk Scarf!
I’ll admit, I haven’t done any painting or the work I probably should’ve been doing, but with the kids heading back to school, I'm looking forward to getting back into my routine. I plan to create some smaller pieces this week, especially for anyone looking for Christmas gifts—maybe a few small flower snails. If you’re thinking of a unique gift idea, feel free to message me!
Roll on the festive season!!!
